INTERNATIONAL YOGA RETREAT/TEACHER TRAINING AGREEMENT
Please read this Yoga Retreat/Teacher Training Agreement (the “Agreement”) carefully. You have registered and confirmed your place on the retreat by submitting the non-refundable deposit. By doing so, you agree to be bound by the Agreement between Caroline Wybar Yoga (“Company”) and you.
Section 1. Payment.
Subsequent payments must be made by check, wire transfer, Venmo or Zelle according to the specified payment schedule. A non-refundable, non-transferable payment of $1,000 is due by Sunday March 8th, 2026. Final balances are due by Sunday June 7th, 2026. For reservations made after June 7th, 2027, full payment is required when the reservation is accepted. If payment of the balance of the retreat price is not received by Company by the required time, we will assume that you will not be participating on the retreat and cancellation charges in accordance with Section 2 will apply.
Section 2. Cancellations.
If you wish to cancel your retreat you must notify Company in writing. Once we've received your notice, cancellation will take effect subject to the following: If cancellation takes place on or before Sunday March 8th, 2026, any payments made will be refunded minus the $500 deposit. If cancellation takes place between Monday March 9th and Sunday June 7th, 2026 any payments made will be refunded minus the $500 deposit and the 1st payment of $1,000. For cancellations after June 7th, 2026, 100% of the retreat price will be forfeited.
Section 3. Health and Fitness Requirements.
You must be in good physical and mental health to participate in the teacher training course. You are advised to consult with a physician to ensure that you are in adequate health to safely participate in the course. Our teacher training courses may take place in remote areas or third world countries where there is little or no access to normal medical services or hospital facilities for serious problems. Medical and evacuation expenses will be your responsibility, so Company strongly encourages you to purchase travel insurance. Additionally, Company and the course instructor reserve the right in their absolute discretion to refuse a participant.
In the event that you are diagnosed with a contagious illness or test positive for Covid-19, you will not be allowed to attend the event and no refunds will be issued. It is your responsibility to ensure that your travel insurance policy covers cancellations due to contagious illnesses such as flu or Covid-19.
Section 4. Cancellation Due to Course Booking Numbers.
Company reserves the right to cancel any course prior to departure in the event that there are too few people booked in which case you will be given a full refund of any and all payments made to Company. You will not be entitled to claim any additional amounts or seek any compensation for any injury, loss, expenses or damage (either direct or consequential) or for any loss of time or inconvenience which may result from such cancellation (including but not limited to visa and passport fees and expenses, flights, flight cancellation and reservation fees, and vaccination costs). Company recommends that you purchase travel insurance.
Section 5. Changes, Postponement, Cancellation or Delay.
Company reserves the right to make changes to any aspect of the course if, in the absolute discretion of Company, it is necessary to do so due to conditions that may be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions such as weather, political, military, terrorist or otherwise or for any other reason considered necessary by Company.
Company reserves, in its absolute discretion, the right to cancel any course due to any material change in any government travel warning or advisory. In this event, we will do all we can to transfer any payments you may have made to a future teacher training course with Company.
Section 6. Insurance.
We strongly recommend the purchase of travel insurance and it is your responsibility to make sure that you are adequately insured for the full duration of the course in respect to illness, injury, death, loss of personal items, cancellation, and curtailment.
Section 7. Travel Documents and Vaccinations.
It is your responsibility to learn about and obtain all required travel documents for travel to the teacher training course destination. Company is not responsible for any delays or cancellations due to your lack of proper travel documents, including valid passports, visas, health certificates and other documents that may be required by the country where the course is located.
Section 8. Photography.
Company reserves the right to use photographs or videos from the course for promotional and commercial purposes. By making a reservation with Company, you agree to allow your image to be used in such photography. If you prefer that your image not be used, please notify Company in writing before the course commences and we will not use your image.
Section 9. Force Majeure.
If Company and the teacher training instructor are prevented from performing any of their obligations under this Agreement by acts of God, strikes, trade disputes, fire, weather, breakdowns, interruption of transport, government or political action, acts of war or terrorism, acts or omissions of a third party or for any other cause whatsoever outside Company and the instructor’s reasonable control, Company and the instructor will be under no liability whatsoever to you and may either cancel or postpone the retreat.
Section 10. Assumption of Risk.
You acknowledge that international travel is more challenging and has a higher level of risk compared with domestic travel, and it involves potential exposure to injury. In the countries in which many of our retreats and teacher training courses are held, standards of accommodation, transport, health care, hygiene, safety and service are often not as high as those standards in the United States or Canada and may require flexibility and patience on your part. You further acknowledge that operational control of the course will be in the hands of a third party and that your cause of action in regard to any shortcomings of that third party's performance is against the third party and not against Company.
Section 11. Release and Waiver of Liability.
You release, waive, discharge, hold harmless and agree to indemnify Company, its officers, its employees, its agents, its licensees, teachers, independent contractors, other representatives, and retreat leaders (the “Released Parties”) from all claims, actions or losses for personal injury, illness, emotional trauma, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services, loss of profits, as well as consequential, exemplary, indirect or punitive damages or otherwise that you may occur in connection with your participation in the teacher training course and any extra activities you may engage in during the course whether or not sponsored by the Company (“Claims”). You waive any Claims you have, or may at any time have, against the Released Parties and you agree not to make any Claim against any Released Party.
